About the event
AAUS Scientific Diver Training is the required training for divers looking to work as research and scientific divers. Over the course of the two weeks, divers will participate in both classroom and dive training in the following areas:
AAUS History
OSHA and the Scientific Exemption
AAUS Standards
Dive Rescue
Navigation
Diving Injuries
Diving Physics
Diving Physiology
Dive Environments and Planning
Scientific Method
Data Gathering Techniques
Decompression Theory
Decompression Management Tools
Coursework will consist of both eLearning and classroom sessions. Divers will complete a minimum of 12 open water dives across Northern Utah in order to obtain AAUS Scientific Diver Certification.
Cost of the course: $1200
